| First Church House Dedicated | 1887 | |
| Present Church Reopened | 1921 |
About 1881, Brother and Sister Harden moved to Hyndman. They were the only members of the church in the town. After deciding to live here they moved from the south end of town to the north end of town and started construction of their new home.
Near this home of the Harden's was an old Methodist Episcopal Church, which had been turned into a residence. Mr. Harden personally bought this building and began the work of reconverting it into a church.
After the remodeling was finished he searched for a minister and died in 1887 without finding one.
Bishop C.G. Lint was called to preach Mr. Harden's funeral. When he saw Brother Harden's work, he arranged a dedication and for the ministers from the Meyersdale congregation to preach here.
When the Evangelical Congregation built a new church, the Brethren bought their old church.
